(~short) Game report : FC Zurich - NE Xamax : 3 - 0 (0 - 0)

Goals : 48' Tarone, 78' Gambino, 82' Nonda
Sorry guys, been too lazy to send those Aarau-Xamax and Xamax-Lausanne
reports... Mmmh, Maybe 'my' team's lousy results have a bit to do with
that. ;-)
The cup's been drunk up to the very last sip for Xamax, who didn't only
lost their last hope against Zurich, but proved again that their
play-making is gone hibernating somewhere. See if it'll be awake on time in
next March.
The first half has been a long, quite boring, control-the-adversary and
see-what-happens half time. There have been, however, a couple of
possibilities on each side, - all I can think of is Wittl, completely alone
in front of Ike Shorunmu, receiving the ball quite properly and missing
his... control -. Anyway, the half-way result was quite logical.
2 minutes were enough in the 2nd half for Tarone to expediate the ball with
a nice 25meters shot, right between Corminboeuf and his left post, after
Perret awkwardly lost the ball a few seconds before. From then on, as both
teams opened their game anyway from the beginning of the 2nd half time, the
debate became only FCZ's. The rest was much of a filling, even if the 2nd
goal, which corminboeuf wrongly described to Mr Détruche as not being one,
was
the definive relief for Ponte and his guys. The very last goal, has been,
once again, the confirmation of Shabani Nonda's talent. The guy is
definitively terrific on the physical and technical side. At the 75',
Tarone hit the post with a quite strong shot. Shorunmu brought much
security to his team.
By Xamax, some players just didn't show enough conviction, especially for
such an important game. Isabella and Kunz in priority. Hamann and
Helgasson, the two newcomers, have done quite a good job.
Matthias, is the list now going to accept cool promotion/relegation reports
such as Baden - Xamax ? ;-) - no offense to Baden fans -
Keep attending football games.
Laurent.
